Adding Alcohol to the Mix: Do you Drink in Front of Your Kids?

Parents, you’re not alone. You’re part of a club. This club is composed of people who love the little ones they’re charged with looking after. This club’s dues? A lifetime of love, understanding and responsibility.

Responsibility has many meanings. It is multidimensional and encapsulates the parenting experience, in that a parent’s responsibilities are always evolving, never ending and constantly in the forefront of decision-making for a family. A big part of this responsibility? Having a constant conversation to help kids make sense of the world. But don’t worry, you’re not alone. You’re one of the millions of parents trying to figure it out, so we wanted to give you some tools to help.

Our #TalkEarly program is comprised of parenting influencers with different family structures, values, thoughts and ideas. We constantly ask them questions, and they answer. There’s not always a right or wrong response, just a discussion about their family’s decisions, and what they think that means for their kids and their view of alcohol.

We believe this platform gives parents the opportunity to discuss these important issues, and rely on each other for advice and comfort. We want to make sure you have the facts, too, so we called on an expert. Dr. Mary Alvord, author and psychologist, to explore a variety of topics in her video series.

Check out what our #TalkEarly parenting influencers had to say this month about whether or not they drink in front of their kids, and get some expert advice on talking about it in our video below!
