An Afternoon with Dr. Wolf

At The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility we believe that parents, teachers and counselors should talk to their kids and students about the dangers of underage drinking every time they have a chance. We also want to make sure that parents, teachers and counselors have the necessary tools and resources to start the conversation with their kids and students.

That’s why, in preparation for Alcohol Awareness Month in April, and in collaboration with the American School Counselor Association, Dr. Anthony Wolf presented a webinar to an audience of counselors regarding underage drinking, why it’s a problem and what can be done about it.

Dr. Wolf has been a practicing psychologist for over 25 years, seeing children and adolescents in the Massachusetts area. He is the author of many books on parenting children and teens, including two best sellers*. He is also a member of The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility’s National Advisory Board, and we appreciate all the experience he brings to the table.

The webinar focused on the dangers of underage drinking, the role of school counselors in talking to their students about the issue, and what advice counselors can offer to parents during Alcohol Awareness month. Dr. Wolf also spoke in great length on the parents’ role in talking to their kids about underage drinking. He emphasized the importance of having a two-way conversation with young people in order to guarantee that they will listen to what parents have to say.

You can listen to the webinar below, or you can also download a PDF of Dr. Wolf's presentation.

*Dr.Wolf’s two best-selling books are: “Get Out of My Life but First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall? A Guide to the New Teenager” and “I’d Listen to My Parents if They’d Just Shut Up.”
