Traffic Safety Spotlight: Chief Michael Brown
Today we celebrate Alexandria’s Chief of Police Michael Brown, for his nearly four-decade long contribution to law enforcement, public policy and traffic safety. Chief Brown began his career as a Los Angeles police officer then eventually rose to the rank of state commissioner. He later served in a national capacity as the Director of the Office of Impaired Driving and Occupant Protection at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) where he advised development and implementation of the national traffic safety policy and best practices.
Today, you can find Chief Michael Brown continuing to serve the public as the Chief of the Alexandria Police Department where he works to keep Alexandria safe. Thank you for joining us in honoring Chief Michael Brown with the 2017 Kevin E. Quinlan Award for Excellence in Traffic Safety at our annual Holiday Hill Event!
Each year, Responsibilty.org highlights leaders who have distinguished themselves in the fight against impaired driving with the Kevin E. Quinlan Award for Excellence in Traffic Safety. Winners range from Members of Congress to local leaders in our communities and each have gone above and beyond their station to make our roads safer.Comments
