Bring your inner child, and actual children, to Capitol Hill with us April 28!

On Thursday, April 28, we will be hosting our 9th annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event on Capitol Hill. The event provides parents who have brought their kids to experience a day on the Hill with an educational break – at the event, they’ll have a chance to play games while also learning about the importance of saying “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking. Parents will also be able to learn tips about how to have important conversations about alcohol responsibility with kids of all ages.

“This event is not just for kids,” said Ralph Blackman, president and CEO of Responsibility.org. “We hope Congressional staff will bring their inner child to the event to learn more about ways to talk to family members and friends about what it means to drink responsibly. There will be skee-ball, basketball, table soccer, foosball and the Ask, Listen, Learn interactive game, which is the most widely-distributed educational game of its kind.“

Joining us to celebrate the day this year are champion role models Lauren Holiday, two-time Olympic gold medalist and a member of the US Women’s National Team in both the 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and Ashley Wagner, three-time National Champion and Olympic medalist Figure Skater.

From the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and William Howard Taft will also be on hand to take pictures with attendees and remind everyone to get outside and be active. 94.7 Fresh FM DJ Tommy McFly will emcee the event, and prizes will raffled to attendees.

This event comes toward the end of April, which is Alcohol Responsibility Month. If you can’t come in person, join us online by telling us what you do to encourage responsibility. Use the hashtag #StartsWithMe and be a part of the conversation all month long.
