Eight State Attorneys General Honored for Fighting Impaired Driving and Underage Drinking

As the top law enforcement official in their states, attorneys general strive to keep people safe. They play a significant role in the fight against impaired driving and underage drinking, and we enjoy the opportunity to work with many of the nation’s state attorneys general on these important issues. Each year, we recognize a few attorneys general who have demonstrated strong leadership on these issues and many others that preserve the health and safety of citizens in their states.

We are pleased to honor eight attorneys general with this year’s leadership award. These awardees have worked tirelessly to educate the public about the influence parents have on their kids’ decisions to drink or not drink alcohol underage and have led efforts to stop impaired driving. The awards were presented by Responsibility.org’s consultant and former Attorney General of Nevada, Frankie Sue Del Papa.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman (R)
  • Montana Attorney General Tim Fox (R)
  • South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley (R)
  • District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine (D)
  • Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum (D)
  • Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel (R)
  • Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro (D)
  • North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein (D)

These attorneys general teamed up with Simone Biles, the most decorated American female gymnast, to promote healthy lifestyles in their communities and worked to prevent underage drinking, binge drinking, drunk driving and drugged driving across their states. They all engaged their constituents on social media and encouraged a lifetime of conversations about alcohol responsibility. We appreciate their support and applaud their continued efforts as they work to keep roads and citizens safe in communities across the country.
