Responsibility.org Sponsored Research

In addition to tracking national drunk driving statistics and underage drinking prevalence rates, the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility sponsors and/or conducts proprietary research to better understand the magnitude of the problems and highlight effective strategies and tactics aimed at eliminating drunk driving and underage drinking.

Most recently, Responsibility.org has partnered with the Division on Addictions at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital to explore innovative approaches to address the relationship between psychiatric profiles and repeat offenders through the Computerized Assessment and Referral System (CARS) diagnostic mental health tool.

Responsibility.org and the American Institutes for Research (AIR) partnered to pilot the FailSafe initiative on college and university campuses beginning in the fall 2016 semester. Based on Edgework theory, FailSafe is a web-based tool to support student leaders in the fight against high-risk alcohol consumption.

Additionally, a research grant awarded to the Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF), the research and education charity of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), is allowing researchers to test the efficacy of text messaging technology as an intervention tool to address dangerous consumption of alcohol among young adults.
