This map details the most common categories of drugs detected in each state according to Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) enforcement evaluations (Source: DRE Section, International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), 2018).

 

Depressants include anti-anxiety drugs, anti-psychotics, anti-depressants, and barbiturates. Familiar and often abused depressants include Valium, Prozac, Xanax, etc. The most common depressant is alcohol.

Stimulants include cocaine, amphetamines, and methamphetamine.

Narcotics include heroin, morphine, Hydrocodone, Vicodin, Oxycontin, etc.
