IKnowEverything visits Clyde A. Erwin High School

IKnowEverything traveled to Asheville, NC this week for an event at Clyde A. Erwin High School! We spoke to 200 10th, 11th, and 12th graders about the dangers of distracted driving and drunk driving. Buncombe County Officer Ray and WLOS News 13 were also in attendance.

The wonderful staff at Clyde A. Erwin High decorated the auditorium with balloons and greeted us with huge smiles. FCCLA Advisor, Lacey Grogan, introduced the program and then we kicked off the challenge! The students welcomed IKnowEverything with a huge round of applause and plenty of cheering. The students were certainly excited to test their knowledge on safe driving.

Throughout the challenge, we asked the students to show a raise of hands if their answers were correct and each time numerous hands would fly up! In an interview with WLOS News 13, Joshua, 12th grader at Clyde A. Erwin High, said “with this, it gives you some ideas of what you are doing and helps put it in perspective how often you do take the chance going out on the road driving distracted.” The students were definitely grasping the facts about safe driving.

We wrapped up the event with a raffle of FCCLA backpacks, IKnowEverything t-shirts, and sweet treats from the FCCLA advisors. Thanks so much to Clyde A. Erwin High School’s FCCLA advisors Lacey Grogan and Kady Rice, and Principal James Brown!
