Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility Recognizes State Attorneys General for Their Efforts to Fight Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking

Today, the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org), a national not-for-profit organization funded by distillers that leads the fight against drunk driving and underage drinking, announced the recipients of its 2014 Leadership Awards, recognizing the following seven State Attorneys General for their strong leadership to prevent impaired driving and underage drinking and promote teen driver safety:

 

·         Jack Conway (D-KY)

·         Bob Ferguson (D-WA)

·         Tim Fox (R-MT)

·         Marty Jackley (R-SD)

·         Peter Kilmartin (D-RI)

·         Derek Schmidt (R-KS)

·         Alan Wilson (R-SC)

 

“The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility has spent two decades fighting drunk driving and underage drinking. We’re proud of the fact that both drunk driving fatalities (down 51 percent since 1982), and instances of underage drinking (down 59 percent since 1991 among 12-13 year olds), are at all-time lows,” said Ralph Blackman, President and CEO of the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility. “Each of the individuals recognized today have played a crucial role in making our roads safer, and our kids healthier. We couldn’t do our job without the help and effort of each and every one of these State Attorneys General and we applaud their tireless efforts to better their communities.”
