Responsibility.org Welcomes 2019 National School Counselor Of The Year To Educational Advisory Board

2019 National School Counselor of the Year Brian Coleman today (Monday) became the newest member of the Responsibility.org Educational Advisory Board. Brian Coleman is a passionate educator and advocate whose energy and expertise effectively engage students, parents, teachers, and their communities on issues ranging from comprehensive health education to diversity and inclusion.

Brian was the first African-American to be recognized as National School Counselor of the Year by the American School Counselor Association and has also been awarded the 2019 Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Upstander Award for his commitment to LGBTQA+ youth advocacy.

Helen Gaynor, Director of Educational Programming for Responsibility.org commented:

“Brian’s talent, authenticity, and innate understanding of how to connect with students, parents, educators and communities will be a tremendous asset to the Responsibility.org Educational Advisory Board. From designing programs to identify and train counselors to engaging audiences with creative approaches and even cartwheels, Brian’s experience will help Responsibility.org continue designing and implementing the most effective educational resources and programs to help kids say ‘yes’ to a healthy lifestyle and ‘no’ to underage drinking.”

Brian Coleman added he is excited to join the Educational Advisory Board and bring his expertise to bear in achieving Responsibility.org’s mission.
