Multiple Substance Impaired Driving

A National Conversation on the Growing Problem in collaboration with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and the American Automobile Association (AAA) are hosting a national conference focused on multiple-substance impaired driving prevention.

The purpose of this conference is to convene the nation’s foremost experts and influencers to examine the challenges and complexities of multiple-substance impaired driving. Participants will engage in discussions ranging from roadside screening and detection, toxicology, emerging technologies, adjudication and remediation, behavior change, opportunities, and solutions.  As a result of this summit, we plan to prioritize a national action plan.

During this conference we will formally launch the National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving (NASID) established by The purpose of NASID is to provide national leadership in identifying and promoting solutions to impaired driving, including expanded chemical testing among impaired drivers, training for criminal justice practitioners, toxicology lab capacity, improvement, and programs to increase the likelihood of recovery and reductions in recidivism. Our work will include state and federal advocacy efforts, public awareness and education, and state implementation of effective programs.
