Six State Attorneys General Honored for Leadership on Drunk Driving and Underage Drinking Prevention

As the top law enforcement official in their states, attorneys general play a significant role in the fight against drunk driving and underage drinking. They work tirelessly to educate the public about the influence parents have on their kids’ decisions to drink - or not to drink - alcohol underage and have led efforts to stop impaired driving.

This year, we are pleased to honor six attorneys general with our Leadership Award for their continued dedication to these issues. This year’s recipients are:

Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen (D)

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin (D)

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes (R)

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge (R)

These attorneys general worked to prevent underage drinking by promoting healthy lifestyles in their communities through our Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix program. They all engaged their constituents on social media, reaching millions of parents with a PSA encouraging parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of underage drinking. We appreciate their support and applaud their continued efforts as they work to keep kids safe and alcohol-free in communities across the country.

Austin Rodriquez is an Associate in the Government Relations and Traffic Safety department. His responsibilities include supporting state legislation, preparing policy documents, building relationships with State and Federal elected officials and a variety of other tasks such as accounting, finances and event logistics.
