Summertime Commitment

Commitment. What does it mean to you?  It could be an agreement between two parties, a pledge to do something in the future, or perhaps something more self-fulfilling - an internal promise to uphold your values. 

At Total Wine & More, our commitment to our customers goes beyond the products that we sell.  As America’s Wine Superstore® - the country’s largest independent retailer of fine wine with 106 stores across 16 states – we are committed to enriching the lives of our customers, as well as supporting the communities in which we work and live.  We believe that wine, beer, and spirits can enhance life experiences, but we also understand the consequences that the misuse of any of these products can have on our community.  It has been our long standing commitment to our customers and the communities we serve to ensure that these experiences are enjoyed in a responsible manner.

Today, we reaffirm our commitment to responsibility and join with the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org) to promote responsible consumption this summer through our Summertime Pledge Campaign.  We are inviting and encouraging our customers to make a pledge this summer to be a responsible host and guest by providing food when alcoholic beverages are served, offering guests non-alcoholic beverages, preventing anyone under 21 from obtaining alcohol, respecting the choice of others not to drink and having an alternative transportation plan home or a designated driver when it’s time to go home.  After all, serving great refreshments can enhance a summer get-together, but shouldn’t be the only reason for getting together.

During the month of June and throughout the Fourth of July holiday, Total Wine & More customers will have the opportunity to make their summer pledge in all stores across the nation, as well as online.  Our goal in partnering with Responsibility.org is to raise customer awareness about the importance of responsible decision-making about alcohol consumption, even if that means choosing not to drink.  We believe that both hosts and guests can do more to ensure a fun and safe summer for everyone.
