Today is International Walk to School Day

Are you about to hop in your car to take your kids to school? Well remember, it is International Walk to School Day, a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day! We acknowledge this day to help empower kids to say 'YES' to a healthy lifestyle like in our initiative Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don't Mix. It's in taking the walk to school or in encouraging your kid to participate in after-school programs, that you can help them avoid risky behavior and allow them to become confident decision makers.

Thousands of schools across America participate every October to walk or bike to class! Walking is important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and when you leave the car at home, it also helps your community by reducing pollution and traffic.

Do you plan to walk your kid to school? This is a great time to spark up a conversation about why a healthy lifestyle is so important for their growing bodies. Click here to find out who walked near you and make sure to share your photos with us!
