Traffic Safety Spotlight: Glenn Davis
Glenn joined CDOT after serving more than 25 years in law enforcement in Littleton, Colorado and continues to act as a reserve sergeant in his community. Since assuming his role in CDOT’s Highway Safety Office, Glenn has faced the unique challenge of having to implement programs and campaigns to educate the public about the dangers of drug-impaired driving after Colorado became the first state to legalize recreational marijuana in 2012.
Under his leadership, the Highway Safety Office has developed compelling and creative public education and outreach efforts (e.g., Drive High, Get A DUI campaign), funded extensive Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) training for law enforcement, and implemented a number of other impaired driving initiatives.
Glenn has also exhibited leadership in the field by sharing the lessons learned from Colorado’s experience with practitioners and highway safety officials across the country and, more recently, abroad. His efforts and guidance have helped other states and nations be better prepared to address with drug-impaired driving. We applaud Glenn for his lifetime of dedication to protecting public safety!

Winners range from Members of Congress to local leaders in our communities and each have gone above and beyond their station to make our roads safer.
