Responsibility Starts Here, There, and Everywhere | On the Road to End Drunk Driving

Responsibility starts with our everyday choices, extends to our communities and social circles, and follows us wherever our summer plans take us.  With increased time spent on the roads during the summer months, it’s more important than ever to stay vigilant, respect the laws, understand personal limits, and look out for those we share the road with every day.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 11,405 people were killed in vehicle crashes during the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day in 2024 (latest data available), with an estimated 31.5% of the fatalities occurring in a drunk driving crash. Our work is not done until this number reaches zero. These crashes are 100% preventable.

This summer, as you gather with friends, family, and loved ones, remember that responsibility starts…

And as we celebrate Memorial Day, let’s remember that it’s not just a long weekend or a day off. Take a moment to reflect on the selfless acts of our nation’s heroes; by celebrating responsibly, we honor their legacy and protect one another.
