Responsibility.org Launches Holiday Campaign, “Responsibility Is Always in Season”

Washington, D.C. — As the holiday season approaches, Responsibility.org reminds everyone that responsible decision-making is always in style. Through the new campaign, “Responsibility is always in season,” the not-for-profit organization is encouraging individuals to prioritize safety and mindfulness when it comes to seasonal events that include alcohol consumption, whether hosting, celebrating, or navigating to and from home.

“The holidays are meant to bring people together,” said Responsibility.org Executive Director Leslie Kimball. “Whether you’re attending a holiday party, hosting friends and family, or enjoying a night in, responsibility is a key ingredient that ensures safety as you gather in celebration of the season.”

With more cars on the road, the holidays often see increases in alcohol-related incidents, including drunk and impaired driving. December is Impaired Driving Prevention Month, making it a critical time to raise awareness and promote responsible behaviors that help prevent lives lost on our nation’s roadways. In this vein, Responsibility.org has partnered with Attorneys General from across the country to film PSAs highlighting the importance of never driving drunk or impaired.

In addition to the PSAs, the “Responsibility is always in season” campaign includes a comprehensive mix of digital engagement and educational outreach, including a social media toolkit for companies and individuals to use to spread the holiday cheer. Throughout the month, Responsibility.org will share responsible hosting practices, encourage parents to talk to their kids about alcohol to prevent underage drinking, and highlight safe alternatives to drunk and impaired driving.

“From understanding how alcohol affects your BAC to planning a safe ride home, we’re here to provide the tools people need to make smart, informed choices,” Kimball said. “Responsibility is always in season—and it starts with each of us.”

Responsibility.org continues to collaborate with law enforcement, hospitality, and policymakers to ensure the message of responsibility resonates throughout the season.
