Responsibility.org Welcomes Two Members to the Judicial Advisory Board

This board guides the Responsibility.org team in navigating the complex DUI system to contribute to the impaired driving prevention efforts and in assessing data and circumstances that aid underage drinking prevention initiatives.

WASHINGTON, DC – Responsibility.org is pleased to welcome two new members to serve on its Judicial Advisory Board, an esteemed panel of judicial experts from across the country specializing in underage drinking prevention, drunk and impaired driving courts, and prosecution. The Honorable Judge Kate Hoffman and the Honorable Judge Tara Osborn will assume their positions on the board effective immediately. Collectively, their addition brings decades of judicial experience and a deep understanding of social responsibility issues that will further the missions of the organization.

“Responsibility.org is fortunate to be adding the expertise of Judges Huffman and Osborn to our Judicial Advisory Board,” said Leslie Kimball, Executive Director of Responsibility.org. “Their experience, dedication, and public service commitments give them unique insight into issues addressing impaired driving and underage drinking that strengthen our already impressive group.”

As the American Bar Association National Judicial Fellow, Judge Huffman brings over 25 years of experience addressing drunk and impaired driving issues. She served for 21 years as a General Division Judge on the Montgomery County, Ohio Common Pleas Court before being elected to the Second Court of Appeals in 2022. Judge Huffman has worked on previous projects with Responsibility.org, including speaking at the 2024 National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving (NASID) Conference on the importance of mental health screening and assessment for impaired drivers.

Judge (Ret.) Osborn served on active duty for over 30 years, as a U.S. Army colonel, combat veteran, and military lawyer. She oversaw judicial operations across military installations worldwide and currently serves as the American Bar Associations Military Judicial Fellow. Judge Osborn has taught extensively in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on the unique challenges judges face in service member impaired driving cases.

The Responsibility.org Judicial Advisory Board shares its expertise and provides guidance on resources, programs, and research to support the missions of the organization, which empowers responsible alcohol choices through a lifetime of conversations.
