Gideon Blum serves as the Manager of Government Relations at Responsibility.org, a role he stepped into in March 2023. In this capacity, Gideon works to promote Responsibility.org’s mission areas by leveraging his experience in government relations and public policy. Before joining Responsibility.org, he worked at the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) within the Public Policy Department, where he played a critical role in supporting both federal and state government relations teams. Gideon also worked as a political organizer in Georgia for the 2021 Senate run-offs and in Pennsylvania during the 2020 general election. He began his journey at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, where he honed his skills in political research and communications while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in political science from Drexel University.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Gideon has a unique background in ice rink management. For over three years, he drove the Zamboni at a Philadelphia ice rink, where he also trained others and prepared the ice for NHL team practices. He continues to engage with the sport by refereeing adult and youth hockey games in his spare time.
