Mustard or ketchup? Hot dog or hamburger?

On July 4^th, as our country celebrates its freedom, our freedom of choice seems wonderfully endless. Hammock or lounge chair? Brownies or cupcakes? If you’re an adult: soda or beer? Water or a cocktail? And if you choose the latter, will you drive yourself home or be driven be someone else?

Lots of prep work goes into making a memorable July 4^th celebration, but don’t forget that planning your way home, or making sure your guests have safe options to get home after the party ends, is part of your civic duty. We all use our roads, let’s all keep them safe.

• Drunk driving crashes accounted for 44% of the traffic fatalities during the July 4th holiday making it one of the deadliest holidays on our nation’s roadways in 2012
