We Gave You the Facts, Now Know the Laws

Today Responsibility.org proudly presents its newest resource – Maps that quickly, reliably, and comprehensively provide up-to-date information on state impaired driving and underage drinking laws.

The new map feature is a natural companion to our State Facts statistics feature. Both are very useful for traffic safety advocates, news reporters, policymakers, and researchers.

In the U.S., impaired driving laws are enacted at the state level and vary greatly. Even neighboring states can have completely different laws. I have examined each state’s statutes and worked with our web designers to create the State Laws map.

The maps resource will be updated and expanded regularly to deliver information in a reliable, user-friendly format. Simply select a type of legislation from the drop-down menu and see how your state measures up to the rest of the country.

Responsibility.org endeavors to be the go-to resource for practitioners, policymakers, and the public. This first-of-its-kind interactive map fulfills that goal.

For more information or to provide state-specific information, please contact Erin Holmes, Director of Traffic Safety at [email protected]. Also, if you’re interested in learning more about the effectiveness of many of these laws, refer to our policy page for a summary of the research.
